Five Dollars..... to Fabulous!

So I picked up this 6 foot self and the Goodwill a while ago, not knowing what I was going to do with it. I always snag the shelves. Just because they are always good to have around.

As you can see this Baby was only 5 bucks!!

I had some leftover sheet-rock and patched those ugly hearts!!
I used my paint able-textured wallpaper and some adhesive and put it over my patch work.
Sprayed the whole thing with my favorite spray paint.....Rust-oleum 2X
I put a brown glaze on it which made it look Fabulous with the textured wallpaper. I put it in my great room with pictures of my family and I Love it:)

So if you are anything like us ...we always have bags of clothes to take to the goodwill (DI). So why not recycle your old T-shirts.
Take a t-shirt and cut off the sleeves , just a the seam. don't cut the seam just right next to it.

I took a small dinner plate and cut out the top of the shirt. Then turn it in-side out.
Sew the bottom of the shirt and then turn it right side out.

Waaa-Laa You have a reusable grocery bag. a swim bag ,a soccer bag a whatever you want bag:)

Long Weekend

So the Memorial Day weekend was not long enough......but I did get somethings done:)

I refinished my garage sale rockers. I painted them burnt orange, rough them up a little bit and put and brown glaze on them. LOVE them!!
I also found this cute table at a garage sale. I painted it avocado  green and stenciled our last name on the top of it. After I stenciled it I took some sand paper to it and made it look old and weathered. I really like the way it turned out!

Now if the sun would come out  .....So I can enjoy my porch!!

I am so excited to re-do these for my front porch.....
I am thinkin burnt orange...What do you think? By the way $10 bucks a piece.

This the coolest box...I don't know what I am going to do with it but it is AWESOME!!

The coolest cigar tin...

I need another clock like, I need a hole in my head but, I couldn't pass this baby up:)

I thought this radio flyer sled would look so cool next to the Christmas tree.

It's rusted and old ,,,,,so cool!!!

This is why I LOVE garage sales and thrift stores!!! It's the thrill of the find:)

Picture Frame Terrarium

So I am excited to show you how to make this cute table top terrariums. I found a picture frame terrarium on  As I made my own I tweaked somethings
but I love my end result!

I started with two 8X10's two 5X7's  and four 4X6's picture frames. I bought mine at  Walmart but you can use frames from your local thrift store.
I used 1" inch "L" bracket. I drilled a hole first then screwed the screw. Attach the 8x10 to the 5x7.

Take the 4x6's using a flat bracket secure them together. Then use two "L" brackets at the top to make a "V" shape for the lid.
Secure the hinges too the lid and base.

This is what it should look like. You will need to cut two triangle shaped pieces of plywood for each side and for the bottom.

I used drywall paste to putty the holes and the seams of the terrarium.
on the sides of the terrarium I used this great textured wallpaper. I'am sooo excited for this product and all the  ideas running though my head!!
I spray painted the whole thing with antique white and then put a brown glaze  over the whole terrarium. Glued the pieces of glass with a hot glue gun, Put a cute antique knob. This is the final product.

LOVE IT !!!!
